I
arrived in Vienna this afternoon (that’s the Stephansdom on the right),
after a wonderful day driving along the Danube, stopping in to explore a
few little villages.
One was Durnstein (near left), where I stopped in at the church and
took some photos. Ran across a wedding party, the bride zipping down an
extremely steep stone staircase, wearing a gorgeous ivory gown.
Then I drove on to Melk, home of the enormous Melk Abbey (far left), where there was a great parade of antique cars. Got some good photos, I think, and will post them soon.
Must run for now. I am meeting a friend for dinner at Meinl, a restaurant above a fabulous, very upscale Viennese grocery store. Food details tomorrow!
